Rehab SEO Services

Rehab SEO built for Google's health rules and LegitScript.

Addiction treatment and behavioral health SEO for operators doing $3M to $30M a year, measured in VOBs and admissions.

Addiction treatment SEO gets your center found when people search for care, inside two sets of rules: Google's standards for health content and LegitScript's rules for treatment websites. The work covers the pages, the technical setup, your Google Business Profiles and the tracking that ties calls and VOBs back to search.

SEO is part of the programs we run for treatment centers doing $3M to $30M a year, next to paid search and admissions work. Our clients include Safe Haven Recovery, Quest 2 Recovery and Quest Behavioral Health.

How does Google judge addiction treatment websites?

Treatment content sits in what Google calls "Your Money or Your Life" topics. Google says its systems "give even more weight to content that aligns with strong E-E-A-T" for topics that could affect people's health, and that such content "must be highly accurate and consistent with established expert consensus" (Google). Three points from the same guidance matter most:

What does LegitScript check on a treatment center website?

Your website is part of your certification review. LegitScript says its program "certifies by website," and each facility you promote "must be reviewed for certification" (LegitScript checklist). Its standards require that:

Its checklist also flags links to treatment centers it hasn't vetted, and says "Guarantees and statistics should always be supported by evidence." Every page we write is built to pass that review. Our LegitScript guide covers the full process.

What does rehab SEO include?

  1. A page map. Pages for each level of care, location and payer question families search for. No thin city pages: Google's spam policy names pages "targeted at specific regions or cities that funnel users to one page" as doorway abuse (Google).
  2. Technical setup. Google asks for LCP within 2.5 seconds, INP under 200 milliseconds and CLS under 0.1 (Core Web Vitals), plus structured data that is "a true representation of the page content" (Google).
  3. Google Business Profiles. One per real location, under Google's rules: your "real-world name," "the fewest number of categories" and a local number rather than "a central call center helpline number" (Google). Google says local results "are mainly based on relevance, distance, and popularity," and that reviews can help (Google). See our Business Profile guide.
  4. Directory listings. Eligible facilities that complete SAMHSA's yearly survey "may opt to be listed on FindTreatment.gov" (SAMHSA).
  5. AI search. Google says "There are no additional requirements to appear in AI Overviews or AI Mode" and that you don't need "AI text files" (Google). Good SEO is the work. Our AI SEO guide goes deeper.
  6. Tracking to admissions. Calls and forms from search tracked through to VOBs and admissions, so you see cost per admission by channel.

What gets treatment center SEO in trouble?

Each one can cost rankings, a Business Profile or your certification, and each is avoidable with a careful build.

How long does rehab SEO take?

Plan in months. Google's guidance on hiring an SEO says “the SEO will need four months to a year” to make improvements and see potential benefit (as reported by The SEM Post). Google's current docs add: "Some changes might take effect in a few hours, others could take several months" (Google). That is why we run SEO next to paid search.

How should you choose a rehab SEO agency?

Google says "No one can guarantee a #1 ranking on Google" and warns against SEOs that claim to (Google). It suggests asking: "What kind of results do you expect to see, and in what timeframe? How do you measure your success?" For a treatment center, add two of your own: does the agency know LegitScript's website rules, and will it report in VOBs and admissions?

Frequently asked questions

It is the work of ranking treatment centers in search: the pages, technical setup, Google Business Profiles and tracking that help families find your program in Google and AI answers. It has to follow Google's standards for health content and LegitScript's rules for treatment websites, and it should be measured in VOBs and admissions.

Does Google treat rehab websites differently?

Yes. Health topics fall under what Google calls Your Money or Your Life. Google says it gives even more weight to strong E-E-A-T on these topics, and that the content must be highly accurate and consistent with expert consensus. Clear authorship, sources and honest claims matter more than length.

How long does SEO take for a treatment center?

Can an agency guarantee first-page rankings for my rehab?

Do I need special files or schema to show up in Google AI Overviews?

No. Google says there are no additional requirements to appear in AI Overviews or AI Mode, and no AI text files or special schema are needed. A page has to be indexed and eligible for a snippet. Strong, accurate pages and clean technical setup are the work.

What does LegitScript look for on my website?

Its standards require the site to conspicuously disclose your facility address and services, show photos that truthfully depict your facilities, avoid misrepresenting scope or location, and match your licensing. Its checklist also flags links to unvetted treatment centers and unsupported guarantees or statistics.
